ClearCut AI ("we", "the Service") provides an AI-powered background removal tool with four processing tiers. This page explains what happens to your photo under each tier.

1. On-device tiers (Light / Standard / Precise)

These three tiers run entirely inside your browser. Your photo is never sent to our servers or any third party — all processing happens on your own device.

2. The Cloud tier

When you choose the Cloud tier, the image is sent from your browser to our own server, which forwards it to a third-party AI image processing provider to generate the result — this is the only data transfer required to provide this tier. The processed image is returned directly to your browser; we do not display it anywhere else or share it with any other third party.

3. We do not permanently store your photos

Regardless of tier, our own infrastructure does not write images to a database or persistent storage. Cloud-tier images exist only for the duration of the request needed to process them.

4. Third-party AI processing and model training (Cloud tier only)

The Cloud tier currently uses a third-party AI provider's service. Under its terms, submitted images may be used by that provider to train and improve their models. We do not control or have visibility into how long that data is retained on their side.

If this concerns you, use an on-device tier instead, or avoid uploading photos containing identity documents, financial information, or other sensitive personal data to the Cloud tier.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's localStorage only to remember your language and light/dark theme preference on this device. No tracking cookies or analytics identifiers are set by this site.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the Service or its underlying AI provider changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
